My ancestor Thomas Towson (1834) was married to Mary Jane Brantley (1836)in Laurens County. I hit a dead end with Thomas Towson, but would love to find out more about Mary Jane. Her father was Lewis Brantley (1814-1851).

Hello, my birthname is Lindsay Marie Brantley, and I am the daughter of Roy Scott Brantley and Frances Elizabeth Blassingame. My dad and I are both from Fort Worth, TX, and my mom is from Pawnee, OK and is a Pawnee Native American. I too, am a registered tribal member. The reason I am reaching out for help researching my paternal family history is because my paternal grandfather, James Byron Brantley, was adopted, likely, by his aunt, when he was a baby. I don't know any other information about my dad's side of the family, other than his mother's name, Joy Irene Southern (last name "Southern" not a birth name). I want to find out what my ancestry is, and I have many obstacles. I was intrigued to find a website dedicated to the Brantley family name. I hope you can help me iny quest to learn where my family originated. Thank you.

I was researching my family tree and was referred to this page because an ancestor was tried and hanged in 1777 and his pre-trial info was in the digitized records you have here. I was curious about what the Brantley Project was, as my mother-in-law in a Brantley from Washington County, GA. So imagine my surprise that I find her family history while researching my own. My mother-in-law is the 2nd great-granddaughter of William Brantley 1820 - 1870.

My grandfather was Mitchell C. Brantley, son of Richard Harold Brantley, son of John W. Brantley. That's as far as I've gotten due to the many John W's listed. However, I do know more now than I did before stumbling onto this site. Very interesting family information.

I am the grandson of the late Bernice Brantley of Little Rock, Arkansas. I am told her parents had a retail store in Little Rock when she was growing up. She married the late Rev. Edward Mathews. Their son, the late Laurence Mathews, was my father. The Brantley genes run strong among my siblings. So happy to find this website. It has given my genealogy research a giant step forward. Thanks to all.
